Tate’s Import Guide, like its sister publication Tate’s Export Guide, provides essential information about the mechanics of international trade. Published in two sections it provides individually updated country information on 74 of the top importing countries. Covering topics such as: economic and political considerations, export controls, trade agreements, payment terms and useful addresses.
The general information section covers the seven steps of import i.e. overseas collection, terminal handling, customs clearance at export, freighting, customs clearance at import, terminal handling and delivery at UK end. It gives full explanation on documentation and incoterms (terms of delivery), transportation and payment. It will help in finding suppliers and suggests what questions should be asked. It covers the legal requirements, import licenses, special treaties to reduce duty payments and a comprehensive explanation to work out what it is likely to cost.
Published every three months our Import Guide is in an easy to read A4 format comprising a country section and a general section. Each issue is updated and simply replaces the previous issue. No loose inserts and no ambiguity.
The on-line version has been designed to give ease of access to the subscriber. From there onwards to browse the information is both comprehensive and responsive. The information can be extracted and printed for non-commercial use.
You will receive a quarterly copy of Tate's International Trade Briefing edited by John Coates and Mike Strawson.  The Internatioanl Briefing is a relevant and useful newsletter covering a myriad of subject matters relating to international trade.
